What is mobber?
Mobber is a mobile communicator based on the Jabber
protocol for cell phones with GPRS.
It is written in java (MID Profile Version 1.0) - should work on any
device that supports Java (it was tested on Siemens CX65, Motorola A780 and phone
emulators available for Linux).
Why do you want to use it?
It's totaly free ! (GPL licence)
It is based on an open standard Jabber/XMPP. You can use it with all IM systems available(including AIM ICQ MSN, yahoo...).
Very small size - only 26KB!
Works on any cell phone with Java & GPRS, it themes with rest of your interface
Full group support
Optionally show only present contacts
Very low costs compared to SMS (0.01PLN for 160-character message with price of 0.59PLN/100Kb, while SMS in Poland usualy costs 0.20PLNr/100Kb *)
You can make use of many jabber services, including: news headlines, dictionaries, sending SMS, mail, checking weather...
* remember that sending/receiving presence and login information also costs
Translations
You can easily translate the interface to your native language - just
modify the Action.java & Label.java files and send them to mobber
